Lately I’ve been obsessed with stripes, but couldn’t find the perfect tee. I found this one on sale at Gap and loved the details: rolled sleeves, slouchy fit and perfect faded black/dark gray stripes. Plus, it was 40% off. Woot woot!
I read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo a few months ago and have been working on de-cluttering my life. Minimalism had always been my goal, but I could never fully commit. This book helped me realize that it’s not about a rigid number of possessions I should have, but surrounding myself with things I love. My biggest struggle has been my closet. Instead of getting rid of items I don’t wear, I was justify keeping them by telling myself I need it for a special occasion or that I used to wear it all the time so maybe I would again. Ugh. The lies we tell ourselves are the worst.
I’m getting better! I’ve donated four or five bags of clothing and started filling my closet with staples I love. Just like the striped tee above that I can pair with practically half my closet. Also, shout out to the fringe necklace I picked up for $5 from the Azalea Festival last summer. It’s been polishing my outfits for over a year now.
